See the young man in the pictures above? His name is Harry Shum Jr. and he plays a character named Mike Chang on the hit Fox TV show Glee. Harry has been apearing on Glee since the fourth episode (Preggers) of season one (in which his character had a total of four lines.)

He finally became a series regular this season (season three) after two seasons of working on the show and being in every episode, but in a very background role. He did chance some spotlight in season two with his funny and purposefully off-tune rendition (with co-star Jenna Ushkowitz) of A Chorus Line’s “Sing!” in the fourth episode(Duets). That was hilarious and adorable but Harry has said himself that it was just a long-running joke and that he can actually carry a tune. It has also been confirmed many times by his friends and co-stars Darren Criss, and Ashley Fink.

At last he has had a chance to really sing for the first time in Glee’s upcoming episode, “Asian F”.

Here is where you guys come in. I have a favor to ask the people of tumblr. It is a common known fact that when an actor gets more song sales the writers will take that as a sign that the actor is in high demand by the fans and will bother to write more for him, and give him more to do on the show. So here is what we need to do to show them how much we love and appreciate Harry.

  1. Buy the song. Don’t download it illegally. If you don’t like the way Harry sings, please look past that for his sake. You don’t have to listen to the song if you don’t want to, just buy it. The more song sells a song gets the more the producers, writers, and the press pay attention. If you want to, buy it more than once if you feel like it is necessary. (This song has not been released yet but I will be inserting the link to buy when it has. It is rumored that the song is “Cool” from West Side Story, but it isn’t a sure thing.)
  1. Watch the episode (“Asian F” Season 3 episode 3) the day it airs (Tuesday the fourth of October. AIRS 8-9:01PM ET/PT.) the more views an episode gets the more attention gets paid. If you have stopped watching Glee since season two I am begging you to tune in for this one episode.
  2. Tweet Harry, tell him personally how much you appreciate him and how excited you are to watch him. This is his twitter.

This isn’t about ships. This isn’t about one actor being better than the other. This is about Harry Shum Jr. and him getting the attention and appreciation he deserves. Please do this and please reblog. You aren’t a horrible person if you don’t reblog I’m just asking you to because I’m a very selfish person and I want so much to have my hero be noticed.

Let him strike you in the heart not only with his dance moves but his acting and singing as well!
